Virtual Walk with Refugees for a Stronger Canada
The Community Coalition on Refugee and Immigrant Concerns (CCORIC) invites you to join us for our annual event: “Walk with Refugees for a Stronger Canada.”
In past years, Waterloo Region residents, former refugees, recent refugees, local organizations, and government representatives have joined us for a two-kilometer walk that started outside Kitchener City Hall. While we can’t physically walk together this year due to COVID-19, we still encourage you to join us for a virtual walk to symbolize the journey that refugees make to our Region.
Here’s how it will work: During the week of June 20-27, people across the Region will walk in their own neighbourhoods in support of our newest neighbours. To show your support, take a photo of yourself while walking that week and use the hashtag, #BecomingNeighbours. If you want to do even more, take a video of yourself while out on a walk and tell us why you “Walk with Refugees!”
We hope you will join us for this virtual Walk!
