Walk with Refugees for a Stronger Canada

The Community Coalition on Refugee and Immigrant Concerns (CCORIC) invites you to join us for our annual event: “Walk with Refugees for a Stronger Canada.”

Please join us on June 25th for a 1.5-kilometer walk starting at Speakers Corner, 2 Benton Street, Kitchener, to raise awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world and hear personal stories about the realities facing refugees arriving and settling in our Region.

Here’s how it works:

1:00 pm – Gather at Speakers Corner, 2 Benton Street, Kitchener, for a welcome and Walk kick-off.

1:30 pm – Walk to Victoria Park, Kitchener, and stop at Reception House to listen to personal stories.

2:15 pm – Continue walking to Schneider Haus National Historic Site for activities and the exhibit, UN/COVERINGS, Mennonite & Muslim Women’s Heads and Hearts.

3:00 pm – the Walk ends. Participants are welcome to remain at Schneider Haus or return to Victoria Park for the Multicultural Festival.
